Canada and United Arab Emirates are deliberating on ways to strengthen ties as coronavirus pandemic lingers.
Earlier today, it was disclosed that Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francois-Philippe Champagne and UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met to analyse the latest developments on Covid-19 and talked about how to raise bilateral ties.
During the video call, opportunities to ameliorate co-operation across different areas like economic, commercial, energy, defence and infrastructure were explored.
Also, they both commended the effort of the two diplomatic missions towards ensuring the repatriation of stranded citizens to their countries.
The online meeting was also attended by Reem Al Hashemy, UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation; Ahmed Al Sayegh, UAE’s Minister of State; Khalifa Al Marar, UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs; Fahad Al Raqbani, UAE’s Ambassador Extraordinaire to Canada; Marcy Grossman, Canadian Ambassador to the UAE and some top government officials of both countries.
