According to police, arrests have been made in connection with a gold heist that occurred at Pearson International Airport last year.
The heist took place on April 17, 2023, and it involved the theft of a “high-value container” from a holding cargo facility after the container was taken off an Air Canada plane.
Few details have been released by the police about the circumstances surrounding the theft.
Meanwhile, a lawsuit filed against Air Canada by Brink’s has shed more light on what is alleged to have happened.

In its statement of claim, Brink’s said that an unidentified individual gained access to the cargo warehouse of Air Canada after presenting phoney paperwork around 40 minutes after the plane carrying the goods landed.
The statement of claim, filed on Oct. 6, 2023, stated that staff then handed over 2 million USD and 400 kilograms of gold bars worth about $21.1 million to the alleged thief.
In a recent news release, police said that investigators will reveal “details and arrests made” in relation to the investigation, named Project 24K, at a news conference which would hold soon.
