Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and new owner of Twitter, has sacked Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal and many other top executives of the platform after his $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform.
The sacked Twitter executives include Ned Segal, the chief financial officer; Vijaya Gadde, the top legal and policy executive; and Sean Edgett, Twitter’s general counsel.
Musk completed his takeover of Twitter before the court-imposed deadline of October 28 elapsed.
Recently, an exclusive report by The Washington Post cited interviews and documents, alleging that Musk had told prospective investors that he would sack 75 percent of Twitter’s 7500 workers as part of his deal to buy Twitter.

Twitter told its staff afterwards that there were no plans for company-wide layoffs.
In a recent open letter, Musk spoke to Twitter’s advertisers about the future of the platform and said he does not want Twitter to become a “free-for-all-hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”
He said he planned to reverse the permanent bans of accounts previously brought down from the platform for violating its rules, including former United States President Donald Trump’s.
He tweeted: “In addition to adhering to the laws of the land, our platform must be warm and welcoming to all, where you can choose your desired experience according to your preferences.
“Fundamentally, Twitter aspires to be the most respected advertising platform in the world that strengthens your brand and grows your enterprise … Let us build something extraordinary together.”
