Starlink, the internet service company of Elon Musk, Starlink, has reduced the price of its hardware by 45% in Nigeria.
According to a recent price update released by the company, Starlink internet router, which was sold for N800,000 as of April 9, now sells for N440,000.
Meanwhile, the monthly subscription for the internet service remains unchanged at N38,000 per month.
Recall that Starlink had been selling for N378,000. An increment that was implemented in early March apparently owing to the declining value of the naira saw the price increased to N800,000.
Though the company did not give any reason for the price slash, the recent appreciation of the naira against the dollar and other foreign currencies may have informed Starlink’s decision.
