The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the recent election. In a personal letter of congratulation signed by Zelenskyy himself, the Ukrainian President expressed his warm felicitations to Tinubu and invited him to visit Ukraine on a State Visit.
President Zelenskyy extolled Tinubu’s victory and expressed Ukraine’s determination to further deepen cooperation with Nigeria. Despite the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Zelenskyy showed his gratitude for Nigeria’s support of the Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization, that seeks to promote a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the significance of providing global food security, which Ukraine guarantees at the global level. He feels the successful implementation of the Ukrainian initiative “Grain from Ukraine” will greatly increase the supply of grain to African countries, including Nigeria, to tackle famine.
Zelenskyy extended an invitation to Tinubu to visit Ukraine on a State Visit at any time that is convenient for him. The Ukrainian leader is hopeful Tinubu’s visit will improve the dialogue between the two countries and contribute to the greater consolidation of joint efforts of the international community to tackle the urgent challenges.
