The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has publicly accepted defeat in the recently concluded governorship election and asked for forgiveness from those that may have been disappointed by his loss. He urged citizens to back the incoming administration and prayed for its success.
In an audio message to the good people of the Zamfara State, Governor Matawalle reiterated his commitment to ensuring lasting peace in the state till the end of his tenure. He highlighted his efforts in creating peace dialogues with bandits to surrender their arms and pursue peace. Also, he worked towards uniting different political factions for the sake of peace and unity in the state.

Matawalle recognized the problem of insecurity in the state, despite the good number of bandits that have repented and urged the incoming administration to work hard to restore peace. He urged the citizens to remain calm and not resort to violence or destruction of property, irrespective of the outcome of the election.
The Governor acknowledged he is human and sought forgiveness from anyone who might have been offended or hurt by his actions. He promised to submit to the will of Almighty Allah and acknowledged that all things happen only by His will.
