Police have commenced an investigation after a woman and two children below eight years old were seen without vital signs at a Scarborough apartment building recently.
Toronto police revealed that the woman, in her late 20s or early 30s, fell from a balcony and is believed to be related to the children, who were seen inside a unit without obvious injuries but without vital signs.
Inspector Jeff Bangild said: “They’re unconscious, they didn’t have a pulse, they were not breathing. They needed an emergency run to save their lives.”
Officers were called to an apartment around Kennedy and Ellesmere roads at around 7:30 p.m. and they reportedly found the woman on the ground being treated by another resident.
Residents from the building across the street gathered around the scene, brought out by police lights. The whole east-facing lawn, below several balconies, was sealed by police tape.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-4100.
