The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has joined the bandwagon in the southern region of the country by signing the anti-open grazing bill into law.

He approved the Cattle and Other Livestock Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill of Anambra State at the Governor’s Lodge in Awka, recently.
According to the governor, the state government’s decision to ban open grazing of cattle and other livestock was to foster peace between farmers and the herders.
The governor made it known that the management of the tussle between farmers and herders in the Anambra State has been a temporary measure and added that it had become important for the government to take long-lasting action.
He however noted that the law enforcement agencies have been ordered to instantly begin the implementation of the law.
