Who the f..k is Arthur Eze? – Nigerians react as Arthur Eze advises Peter Obi to withdraw from presidential race

Anambra businessman and billionaire, Prince Arthur Eze has revealed he does not support Peter Obi’s presidential dream.

While speaking at the occasion of the 2022 Ofala festival of HRH Igwe (Dr.) Robert Eze, the traditional ruler of Ukpo in Dunukofia local government area of the state recently, Eze said he warned Obi to drop his ambition, but he wouldn’t listen.

He said after he listened to the Labour Party presidential candidate on the number of states he felt he could win, he advised him to withdraw from the race and wait for next time.

He added that he advised Obi not to waste his money because he was not sure that he can win the 2023 presidential election.

He said: “I warned Peter Obi to withdraw from this race but he would not listen. I told him plainly that I am not part of his plans. I told him to drop his ambition, and wait for next time.

“When he told me about his ambition, I asked him the states he thinks he can win in the west and in the north — he told me; but I was not convinced. I told him he cannot win; so that he would not waste his time and money.”

Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to Eze’s comment on Twitter.

Check out some of the reactions below:

@MaziGomez tweeted:  “Arthur Eze is on his own. Peter Obi will be the next of president of Nigeria and there is nothing Arthur Eze will do about it. This election is definitely between the elites that have held Nigeria down for decades and the poor youths that have been suffering for years.”

@adanwachinelu tweeted: “Arthur Eze has confirmed it. Atiku transferring power to @CCSoludo, has been Soludo’s game plan all along. It has now become clear why he has been ranting up and down like an embittered wife.”

@cacagents tweeted: “Arthur Eze have no political value, prove me wrong with facts please”

@James92422878 tweeted: “I’m not Igbo but one thing I like about some Igbo elites like Arthur Eze and the rest not supporting Peter Obi is a clear vision that his presidency is not of Igbo but for Nigeria My family and I will keep on supporting and ready to vote for Obidatti. Pls go collect your PVC.”

@joesepriyano tweeted: “Pls who is Arthur Eze?”

@Culcid tweeted: “Arthur Eze’s statement just solidified my conviction that Peter Obi’s emergence as Nigeria president will be a long shift from the usual. We can then actually boast of a president elected by the people and 100% sure he will more than deliver.”

@bechiny tweeted: “All the organised crimes on our oil & security situation can be traced to all these political elites. They will say anything to prevent good governance. I use to think that wisdom & dignity comes with age, but this old man called Arthur Eze is getting more stupid as he gets older”

@flyhigher416 tweeted: “At the end of d Day, when Peter Obi becomes President, No Arthur Eze or Soludo or Umahi will take glory! God is allowing this men to goof so that God will take his glory. This is a people’s movement & not an elite arrangement. What you see is the cry of the Igbo who feel left out.”

@InitiativeNoah tweeted: “Arthur eze never supported Peter obi, in fact obi contested and win twice against Arthur candidate. Arthur is a pdp man he has always been against obi from the beginning so obi is used to his lack of support. No be today jare.”

@RadioLabChux tweeted: “As an Igboman, I have only one question… WHO THE FUCK IS ARTHUR EZE?. Why is my data being wasted on this miscreant….”

@am_cheesom tweeted: “Leeeemoa Arthur Eze is moving like he is going to deliver his polling unit and Anambra state as a whole. He should goan rest we don’t need him to endorse Obi for us.

@amangbaanthony tweeted: “We are glad Arthur Eze did distance himself from Peter Obi’s ambition but we are sad Arthur Eze asserted that we must wait until after Atiku’s presidency before a president of Igbo extraction would emerge. What a nonsense!”

@MarkOsuchukwu tweeted: “Arthur Eze is a political dunce.”

@Obiorahenry0 tweeted: “In a context actually. There’s a reason Arthur Eze is pointing at Soludo. Arthur Eze will support anyone who will do his bidding and Soludo fits perfectly well for that position. The Uba brothers at back through Soludo.”

@philip_chibuike tweeted: “Dear Obidients, The more they gang up against @peterobi is an indication that they are either afraid of him, know he will win & won’t share our commonwealth with them. This alone should motivate you to go & collect your PVC. #PeterObi4President2023”
