The US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, recently called President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a statement released by Blinken’s office, Blinken emphasized his continued commitment to further strengthening the U.S.-Nigeria relationship with the incoming administration during the call.
The statement further revealed that Blinken noted that the U.S.-Nigeria partnership is built on shared interests and powerful people-to-people ties, as such, those links would continue to stronger under President-elect Tinubu’s tenure.
The statement added that Secretary Blinken and President-elect Tinubu talked about the importance of inclusive leadership that represents all Nigerians, continued comprehensive security cooperation, and reforms to back economic growth.
