A United States court has convicted the sacked police officer, Derek Chauvin, for last year’s gruesome murder of African-American, George Floyd, in Minneapolis.
The convicted Chauvin, was filmed while kneeling on Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes during his arrest on May 25, 2020.
The 45-year-old police officer faces decades in prison for the incident which ignited protests across the United States and many parts of the world.
In a unanimous decision, a 12-member panel convicted Chauvin on all the three-count charge of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter levelled against him by the prosecution.
