The United Kingdom (UK) government has apologized to Peter Obi after immigration officials admitted to have wrongly given the Labour Party Presidential Candidate a detention note.
Recall that Obi was recently detained for hours and interrogated by the officials after his British Airways plane landed at Heathrow Airport.
According to reports, the former Governor of Anambra State was detained over an alleged duplicate identity.
In its apology, the UK immigration authority said the uncomplimentary treatment he received was “completely unacceptable.”
The UK immigration authority said: “Frankly, the Immigration Official’s action – has been appalling – and we are sorry.”
