Twitter has deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet in which he said his government would deal with those brewing trouble in the South-East and other parts of the country by destroying offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other government formations.
Buhari‘s controversial tweet threatened to spark another civil war in South Eastern part of Nigeria.

Following increased violence in the South East, President Buhari threatened that the experience of the civil war would be unleashed in the region.
The controversial that has been deleted by Buhari read: “Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”

Millions of Biafrans were killed and displaced during the civil war . The tweet which declared a replication of civil war generated criticism from Nigerians who reported the tweet.
The controversial tweet was flagged by the Twitter. After flagging the tweet, Twitter stated that the comment violated Twitter rules after several reports were received about the tweet encouraging violence against the people from Eastern part of Nigeria.
