Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, will attend the state funeral of former Mayor of Mississauga, Hazel McCallion.
Due to Trudeau’s busy schedule, it was not clear if he would be in Mississauga for the final farewell to McCallion who left an indelible mark on Canada’s seventh-largest city.

However, the office of the Prime Minister confirmed recently that Trudeau’s February 14 itinerary includes his presence at the state funeral, which will take place at Paramount Fine Foods Centre at 11 a.m.
Also, Trudeau will deliver remarks to the gathering.
Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien, who met with McCallion on many occasions, is also expected to attend the funeral that is taking place on the day McCallion would’ve turned 102.
McCallion died on January 29 after a month-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
City of Mississauga officials have announced that a limited number of tickets to McCallion’s funeral are still available to the public for free.
Tickets are available online. Those who are attending have been asked to arrive at the venue one hour ahead of time, at 10 a.m.
Ontario Lieutenant Governor, Elizabeth Dowdeswell; Ontario Premier, Doug Ford; Ontario Secretary of the Cabinet, Michelle DiEmanuele and Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie are part of the dignitaries who will attend McCallion’s funeral.
