The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau has appreciated Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for his unrelenting contribution to fostering Canada-Japan. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation during a recent 20-minute telephone conversation with Abe.
Japanese officials revealed that during the conversation, Abe explained to Trudeau that his resignation came a year before his current tenure as the president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party ends in September 2021.
The outgoing Prime Minister appealed to the Trudeau to continue efforts to improve the bilateral relations which include work to ameliorate the Free and Open Indo-Pacific initiative facilitated by Abe’s administration.
