After the Olori of Ooni of Ife, Naomi Ogunwusi refused to return to the palace following her public announcement of her separation from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ile Ife traditional council has allegedly resolved to wash her aura from the Ooni of Ife’s palace.
This rite is very similar to that of ‘Oro’ and it involves the spiritual cleaning of the palace of unwelcome individuals and spirits. This means that Naomi’s flame will never flare again in the Giesi royal dynasty. By implication, she is never a queen but the mother of Ooni of Ife’s Prince.
It should be recalled that on December 23, 2021, Queen Naomi posted on her verified Instagram account that she was no longer Ooni’s wife.
Despite her commendable “enduring endeavors” to make the union work, Olori Naomi offered various explanations for the failure of her marriage to the Ooni.
Olori Naomi left the palace and she was absent at the coronation anniversary celebrations and declined to post a celebratory message on social media for the King.
