Tiwa Savage’s new album is making wave in Nigeria and around the globe. In one of the tracks of her new album, she talked about her unsuccessful marriage to Tunji Balogun (Teebillz).
Savage and Teebillz wed at the Ark, Lekki in 2013 in one of what has been described as the most attended celebrity weddings of this decade.
Her song ‘Us’ is an Interlude which is less than 3 minutes in the 13-Track album.
According to Tiwa, love was not enough for their marriage to last long.
The track’s lyrics say: “I should have seen the warnings…So many times we lie for love and mama prayed for us still not enough. It wasn’t enough, I wasn’t enough, you weren’t enough, love wasn’t enough.”
She however made it known that at least they both came out with something from the union (Jammal).
”At least we both came out with something.”
Savage and Teebillz got married in 2013 but things went south in 2016 after the couple took to social media to call each other out over issues relating to infidelity.
Their separation is one of the messiest seperations in Nigeria’s entertainment industry history.
