According to Nigerian popular Nigerian music diva Tiwa Savage, she was talking about Jesus Christ in her popular song “Somebody’s Son,” which was released in October 2021.
She made this statement while playing the song, “water and garri,” which is one of the tunes of her 2021 EP Album, at a recent event.
The 42-year-old Afrobeats icon claimed that Jesus Christ, the son of God, was the inspiration behind the heartache ballad, in which Brandy of the United States was a featured artist.

Tiwa Savage said, “When I composed this song, a lot of people warned me it wasn’t going to be a hit because only ladies will sing along to it, to the cheers and applause of the audience.
“But you know what I told them, when I wrote this song, I was not even thinking about a relationship, I was thinking about Jesus Christ because he is the real somebody’s son.
So I said to them, people will relate to the song because whether you are a man or a woman, we all need somebody’s son.”
Netizens reacted to her claims, a commenter @foreverdebs noted, “I have never listened to that song and thought of Jesus Christ, this woman dey lie pieces.”

@GuesstheMaga replied, “At least when you want to lie, lie well. Lie a semi-believable lie. How is “Somebody’s Son go love me ONE DAY” make sense to be referring to Jesus when he already loved us before he was sent to earth. Tiwa, you didn’t even think through this lie, did you.”
