Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, met with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting took place some hours after the organized labour led Nigerians to protest the removal of the fuel subsidy and other policy initiatives of Tinubu’s administration.
The labour leaders that attended the meeting were NLC President, Joe Ajaero; his TUC counterpart, Festus Osifo as well as general secretaries and other top members of the two workers’ organizations.

Though what transpired during the meeting has not been made public, they are connected with the labour demands from the government which include reversal of fuel subsidy removal, review of the current minimum wage, release of unpaid eight months’ salaries of university lecturers and workers and a reversal of increment in school fees.
