The Nigerians in Western Canada tasked with launching over 100 startups

According to the Co-founder, Clement Esene, BIPOC Foundation is established to create significant entrepreneurship opportunities for diverse communities and advance understanding, cultural exchange, cooperation, Economic Empowerment, and Financial Inclusion while cultivating values of Culture, Equity, and Equality, Empathy, Education, and Inclusion.BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour.

BIPOC Foundation has received $2.6M in funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada to
establish a business accelerator program for Black entrepreneurs in Western Canada. The accelerator-based out of Lethbridge will use digital tools to provide programming across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

This investment is expected to help support over 100 businesses to start and grow across Western Canada and provide training for over 100 Black entrepreneurs across Alberta.

On 31st 2022, BIPOC Foundation launched its flagship program, Black Founders Hub –a 10-week accelerator for early-stage Black-led startups in Western Canada. The initiative will provide early-stage entrepreneurs with foundational business and growth training. It will also connect Black business owners and entrepreneurs with investors.

Mr. Jaygbes Napoelon Ogbole, responsible for Community Engagement and Outreach, confirmed that BIPOC Foundation would run a community outreach and engagement event this summer in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to ensure the Black Communities in these provinces are aware and partake in the organization’s product offering. We host virtual Business Plan Boot Camp every Tuesday at 6:30 pm MST and virtual Finance Fridays every Friday at 6:30 pm MST.
