The founder of Sundry Agro Corp talks about how the platform will address the needs of Nigerians in Diaspora

Eyitayo Onigbinde is the CEO of Sundry Agro Corp, Nigeria’s highly anticipated eCommerce platform.

In an interview with the Nigerian Canadian News, he discussed what the company is all about, the stakeholders in the company and the company’s target market.

He also talked about when the platform will go-live and what Nigerians should expect.

Check out the interview below:

NC: A lot of people have heard about Sundry Agro Corp but don’t know what the company is all about. Can you take us through what the company is all about?

EO: Sundry Agro Corp is an agricultural processing company that was incorporated in October 2021. We have been working with farmers to distribute oven-dried Cat Fish and meat in South-Western Nigeria. But then, we realised how important it is for farmers to scale up their business due to the rising inflation and constant devaluation of Nigeria’s currency.

It is an eCommerce platform that seeks to connect agro buyers and sellers to transact business to increase local food supply and also help the Nigerian Agro SMEs, farmers and merchants to scale up their business.

NC: From what you have said, there are two sides to the business. The vendor side and the consumer side. Can you please elaborate on these sides?

EO: Yes. You are right. There are two sides to this business. The stakeholders in this business are three. From our analysis, there is the vendor side, who are the local Nigerian agro farmers. So we have been able to identify the Nigerian agrofarmers’ need to scale up their business and we realised that there is so much that the Nigerian agricultural sector can achieve when our farmers can get their products out of the local market into the global market. So the Nigerian agro farmers are one of our major stakeholders who will benefit from the Sundry Agrocorp eCommerce platform.

Then we have the consumers, the buyers. We are targeting products mainly for exportation to consumers in the United States, the UK, Canada and Europe. Also, we are considering intra-African trade to export to other neighbouring African countries.

You know our consumers want to experience home away from home through our eCommerce platform, as such, they are another stakeholder in the business.

And of course, the country is another stakeholder that will benefit from the business because once we start exporting products from Nigeria, the country earns Forex and that impacts positively on the GDP of Nigeria and Africa at large.

NC: Concerning your target market, do you have plans to cover other markets apart from the ones you mentioned earlier?

EO: As I said, our major market is Nigerians and Africans primarily in the United States and Canada. We are looking to expand to Europe as well.

NC: Sundry Agro Corp has a website. Can you take us through the features of the site?

EO: Yes. By typing www.sundryagro.com, you are going to be taken to our homepage where you can view products arranged for sale to our customers.

Once customers click on a particular product of choice, they get further information about the product and they can then add the product to the cart. Once that is done, they proceed to checkout and make payment for the product(s).

But they need to add information like shipping address, country of residence and so on. Once they checkout, we receive the information at our backend into our email and we can follow up with the customers from there to fulfil the order(s) they made on our website. The orders are fulfilled in accordance with the agreed time frame with our customers.

We also will implement a Cryptocurrency reward system whereby our customers can earn crypto coins which they can earn over time as they use our platform. They can earn it into their wallet and they can use it to purchase on our platform.

NC: Is the site user-friendly?

EO: The site is user-friendly. As a matter of fact, navigating our website will be as simple and easy as you can imagine.

NC: When is the platform going live and what should customers expect?

EO: Sundry Agro Corp is scheduled to go live on January 29, 2022.

From the day of launch to the end of February, we will be offering our customers a 30% discount on any product they order from our site. Also, we will offer a 20% discount on the shipping fee.
