The first of three charter flights conveying Ukrainian refugees fleeing Ukraine to Canada will soon land in Manitoba.
The flight will land around 2 p.m. at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has revealed that the three flights will help bring approximately 90,000 Ukrainians that have been approved for emergency travel into Canada.
The second flight will leave Poland for Montreal on May 29 and the third will leave for Halifax on June 2.
The government of Canada has already welcomed thousands of Ukrainians since Russia’s first invasion in February.
Manitoba has said that when the refugees arrive, they would be taken to the province’s Ukrainian Refugee Reception Centre to get help with settlement.
