The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has ordered the instant reduction of school fees at the state university by fifty percent.
Kefas made this known while paying an unscheduled visit to the state university to assess the state of the institution. He said he decided to reduce the university school fees to cushion the devastating effects of subsidy removal by the federal government which has made some of the students unable to pay their fees.
Also, the Governor discovered that a total of 53 courses offered in the university are without accreditation and that there is a hike in school fees and poor student hostels.

Kefas ordered a report on why some graduates of the institution are unable to go for NYSC or law school when he met the management of the institution.
