Preply, a website that links people with tutors, has released a survey which ranks the levels of rudeness and politeness in major cities in Canada. Preply says on its website that it surveyed over 1,500 Canadian residents across 44 cities to discover which city is the rudest and if the stereotype of apologizing too much is true.
According to Preply, respondents were asked how often they see rude behaviours, how often they swear and their take on the stereotype that Canadians are more polite than the average individual.
According to the survey, Vaughan, Coquitlam, B.C., and Brampton are the rudest cities in Canada
The other “rude” cities making the top 10 are Surrey, Windsor, Thunder Bay, Regina, Edmonton, Sudbury and Winnipeg.
Also, the survey ranked the rudest cities in the GTA. The survey reveals that rudeness in the region “varies considerably.”
The rudest cities in the GTA are Vaughan, Brampton, Toronto, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Burlington, Oshawa, Oakville and Markham.
