Nigeria’s women’s team, the Super Falcons will trade tackles with reigning Olympic champions Canada in two friendly matches that will be played over three days in Vancouver and Victoria City.

The matches will be played on April 8 and April 11 respectively.
Defenders Onome Ebi, Glory Ogbonna and the technical crew flew out of Nigeria recently and joined a flight from Frankfurt to Vancouver. The other players will flew to Vancouver from their bases in Europe and America.
Canada’s Women Soccer National Team are the current champions of Olympic women’s football, having clinched the gold medal at the Olympic Women’s Football Tournament in Tokyo in August 2021, by defeating Sweden on penalties after a 1-1 draw during the regulation and extra time.
The Super Falcons are nine-time winners of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and recently secured qualification for the Women AFCON finals which will hold in Morocco this summer after a 3-0 aggregate win over Cote d’Ivoire.

The two-match tour against the Olympic champions is part of the Super Falcons’ preparations for the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
