Nigeria women’s national football team, the Super Falcons of Nigeria will end year 2022 as the 45th-best national team in the world.
The Falcons were eliminated in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) but retained their position from the last rankings published.
The latest Women’s world rankings which are the final rankings of the year were recently released by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The Super Falcons retained its position as the best team in Africa.
South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire complete the top five teams in Africa.
United States of America maintained the top position on the ranking despite winning just once in their last four games.
Germany moved up to the second position while Sweden dropped to the third position.
England and France make up the top five teams in the world.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be released on March 24 2023.
