Stephanie Frappart will become the first female official to officiate at the men’s European Championships this summer following UEFA’s confirmation of the list of referees for this year’s competition.
The female referee will partake as a match support official, as such, she will either as a fourth official or a reserve assistant referee during the tournament.

Over the last two years, Frappart became the first female to referee a Champions League match, a Ligue 1 match and a World Cup qualifier.
She refereed Netherlands’ 2-0 triumph over Latvia in March and became the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup Qualifier.
The 37-year-old refereed the UEFA Super Cup game between Liverpool and Chelsea and the Women’s World Cup final when the Netherlands lost to the USA in 2019.
Last October, she was in charge of Leicester City’s match against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk in her debut Europa League game.
