The new romantic comedy of Woody Allen will open Spain’s San Sebastian film festival in September and according to the organizers, it will also be the comedy’s international premiere.
The film was Shot last summer in and around the northern seaside resort and the story borders on an American couple who come to Allen’s international film festival and are thrilled by the fantasy of cinema, the aura and the beauty of Spain.
Entanglements of characteristic romance ensure she has an affair with an intelligent French film director and he falls in love with one beautiful Spaniard who resides in the Basque city.
The film is Allen’s latest project and it features Austrian actor Christoph Waltz and US actress Gina Gershon. It was produced by Mediapro and it also features French actor Louis Garrel and Spanish actors Sergi Lopez and Elena Anaya.
In spite of the uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic, the film festival which is the biggest of such in Spain will go ahead as planned and it will run from September 18 to September 25.
This will be the second time that Woody Allen’s film has opened the festival. His “Melinda and Melinda” opened the festival in 2004 when he won a lifetime achievement award at the festival.
