Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Ontario is probing a case after two men fell from a balcony when Toronto police officers broke through the door to their apartment.
According to the SIU, the officers of Toronto police’s gun and gang task force, as well as its emergency task force arrived at Liberty Village to execute a warrant at a unit.
The SIU said: “Shortly after the ETF breached the unit door, two men went over the balcony.”
A 31-year-old man landed on the fourth floor, while a 27-year-old man fell on the ground.
The unit said tree investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to look after the case. However, they did not reveal the number of officers being investigated.
