Shared Health Manitoba has said that infants and toddlers are encountering high rates of RSV-related hospitalization in Winnipeg but young children are making up in pediatric intensive care.
Recently, a minimum of 17 children were in the Health Sciences Centre’s pediatric intensive care unit in Winnipeg. The release said several were “no more than a few months of age.”

Though positivity rates for Influenza A are increasing in Manitoba, Shared Health added that RSV-related illnesses and hospitalizations keep rising, with 18 infants and toddlers being admitted to the Children’s Hospital between January 1 and 6.
