Senate Committee questions Cardoso, others

The Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Financial Institutions has held an interactive session with the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, and other top officials of the apex bank.

Recall that the CBN Governor appeared before the Upper Legislative Chamber on January 31. The interactive session is connected with the current hardship and high cost of living Nigerians are currently encountering.

The session also occurred two days after Cardoso appeared before the House of Representatives where he was asked many questions over the free fall of the Naira and the foreign exchange crisis.

According to reports, the Senate is worried about the current situation of the country and is seeking answers and solutions from the CBN Governor over efforts to stabilize the currency and bring back confidence in the economy
