In a tsunami move that could make the billionaire go down drastically, Natalia Potanina, the ex-wife of Russian Oligarch and richest man, Vladimir Potanin, is demanding as much as $6 billion from her ex-husband after overturning a court case in the UK.
It would be recalled that the couple divorced in 2014 and Natalia was accused of “Divorce Tourism” which she successfully overturned recently. Natalia is demanding $6 billion from her ex-husband and if she succeeds, it will be the biggest divorce payout in UK history.
NCNC gathered that she initially received $41.5 million from her ex-husband when they divorced in 2014 in Russia. The couple was married for 31 years.
It’s important to note that Vladimir Potanin is the richest man in Russia with a staggering net worth of $33.5 billion. Sources have it that he benefited from the historical privatization of Russian assets in 1995 under President Boris Yeltsin.
Potanin reportedly owns the largest stake in Norilsk Nickel PJSC which is the world’s largest producer of high-grade nickel.
Also, he owns interests in insurance, media, agriculture, engineering, and oil.
Local reports have it that he is a close friend to Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
It is imperative to also note that Vladimir Potanin is the 37th richest man in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index.
