Results On INEC Portal Reveals That Peter Obi And Not Tinubu Won In Rivers State

Investigations have revealed that the results posted on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Results Viewing Portal (IReV) show that Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, won the February 25 presidential polls in Rivers State.

Information gathered from Premium Times revealed that Obi won in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, South-south Nigeria, according to results posted on the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV).

It was discovered that results uploaded from the results sheets of over 95% of polling units in the 17 wards of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area reveal that Obi won in the council and the state.

During the collation of the results in the state, Obi was leading by more than 23,000 votes by the time INEC announced the presidential election results in 21 of the 23 local government areas of the state.

However, Obio/Akpor and Degema LGAs results, which are under the control of the Executive Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, changed the whole thing.

According to INEC, Tinubu polled 80, 239 votes in Obio/Akpor while Obi polled 3,829 votes.

The results from these two LGAs as declared by INEC gave Tinubu the boost to win the Rivers States during the February 25 polls.

Meanwhile, Premium Times’ reviews and tallies reveal that the results uploaded on the INEC viewing portal were different from what the commission declared.

From Obio/Akpor LGA’s result sheets uploaded as of March 16, Tinubu got 17, 158 votes while Obi had 73,311 votes

The review focused on results from 1,116 polling units, which represents 94.13% uploaded on the INEC IReV, as results from around 95 polling units, which represents 5.87% were not uploaded within the period under review.

Premium Times also observed that Degema LGA’s result sheets that were uploaded on the IReV were also different from those declared in favour of Tinubu by INEC.
