Regina King’s son dies by Suicide

Famous American actress, Regina King is saddened by the loss of her son, Ian Alexander Jr. after he committed suicide at the age of 26.

While talking to People Magazine, King said: “Our family is devastated at the deepest level after the loss of Ian.”

According to the publication, King celebrated the son’s 26th birthday recently and it was a joyous day full of joy where they both looked forward to their future as Alexander Jr. was very focused on music.

The statement read: “He is such a bright light that he cared deeply for the happiness of others. Our family asks for respect and consideration during this very private time. Thank you.”

The marriage did not stand the test of time as King divorced in 2006, citing constant physical abuse, drug use and extramarital affairs by her husband as reasons then.

After staying alone with her, Ian strengthened their relationship. They were constantly seen together during events and awards. That love relationship between mother and son was even externalized on their social media accounts.

Alexander Jr’s last message to his mother was written on the occasion of his 50th birthday last year, where he made a dedication of thanks for everything she had done for him and called her his “superhero”.

He wrote: “Having you as my mother is the greatest gift I could receive. Being who you are and always having the time to be there, love and support me unconditionally is something worth admiring.”
