Aftabahmed Abdullatif Shaikh, a British Columbia Pharmacist, has been suspended for 30 days by the provincial College of Pharmacists for falsifying his COVID-19 vaccination status when the pandemic was at its peak.
According to complaints outcome registry of the college, Shaikh admitted he entered false COVID-19 vaccinations into his PharmaNet record on two different instances in August 2021, despite never receiving the vaccine.
The counterfeit records made Shaikh obtain a COVID-19 vaccine passport that was required for access to certain public spaces and events.
Also, Shaikh gave false information that a colleague was the authorizing pharmacist that was responsible for administering the injections.
The inquiry committee of the College of Pharmacists of B.C. found out that Shaikh also manipulated his personal information on the software of the pharmacy to deactivate his profile, making it more tedious to access his records.
In its decision, the college wrote: “The false vaccine passport could have put the public at increased risk of harm. The Registrant’s actions were self-serving and contrary to the conduct expected of a pharmacy professional.”
