Over one million people have fled their homes in the Gaza Strip ahead of an expected Israel invasion which seeks to eliminate the leadership of Hamas after its deadly incursion.
Israeli forces, backed by U.S. warships, stationed themselves along Gaza’s border and drilled for what Israel said would be a wide campaign to dismantle the militant group.
This came a week after airstrikes vandalized neighborhoods but failed to prevent militant rocket fire into Israel.
The war has become the deadliest of five Gaza wars for both sides, with over 4,000 dead.
According to Gaza Health Ministry, 2,670 Palestinians have been killed while 9,600 are injured.
