Ottawa police have begun an investigation into a report of gunshots fired at a West End Catholic elementary school.
According to Counc. Laine Johnson, there were reports of gunfire at St. Daniels Elementary School on Sunday evening.
Ottawa Police revealed they received a call to the school at 7:15 p.m. and discovered multiple shell casings.

Police said no injuries were recorded.
According to a letter sent by the Principal of the school, Mark Kennedy, to families, someone damaged the school’s fence.
Also, Kennedy was advised by police that it was safe to open the school.
Kennedy wrote: “Our students will be supported as needed if they are upset by the events last night in their neighbourhood.”
He added that safety for students and staff is the school’s topmost priority.
