According to the Ontario Provincial Police, a 19-year-old from Huron County has been charged with harassment after allegedly sending threatening messages online via social media.
The accused was apprehended recently after a high school student reported the receipt of a threat via Snapchat. OPP confirmed that though the victim and the suspect were known to each other, they were not in a relationship.

Constable Craig Soldan revealed the seriousness with which the police approach such cases, especially when they involve young people or students. The police are working with the school to bring the matter to a swift conclusion.
Soldan said: “We take these cases very seriously when it comes to any young person or students. We acted swiftly and worked collaboratively with the school to bring this to a conclusion.”
The accused allegedly threatened to wound the victim and their friends. Following the arrest, the teenager was detained overnight and will later appear in court for a bail hearing.
