Many Ministers will be relieved from their posts when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shuffles his cabinet this week in Ottawa, but it’s unknown whether Transport Minister and Mississauga Centre MP Omar Alghabra will be part of them.
Alghabra became Minister of Transport in January 2021 when he took the reins from Marc Garneau in a cabinet shuffle then.
According to reports, Trudeau could change his inner circle as early as Wednesday and he is meeting privately with some Ministers, a signal that a reshuffle looms.
Alghabra planned to attend a media session today at Vancouver International Airport for an important funding announcement, but the session has been cancelled.

In most cases, such cancellation implies an impending cabinet shuffle.
As Transport Minister, Alghabra has faced some trying times at Pearson Airport in Mississauga and other airports as he tackled many post-pandemic issues which include delayed and cancelled flights, huge lineups inside airport terminals and lost luggage.
