Ohanaeze Elders Council has condemned the alleged profiling and targeting of Igbo residents in Lagos and other places in Nigeria for attacks and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to bring all those culpable to justice.
The Elders Council likened the recent events in Lagos to the incidents that triggered the 30-month of civil war that claimed the lives of many Nigerians.
The Council of Elders ordered Ohanaeze Ndigbo to constitute a Committee of Enquiry to fully investigate the killings and destruction of properties and assets of Ndigbos in Lagos.

The report of enquiry’s terms of reference include the number of Igbos killed, injured and hospitalized, the number permanently incapacitated, and a comprehensive report of Igbo assets and properties destroyed.
The Elders resolved to petition President Buhari and forward a protest letter to the National Assembly and other relevant agencies to express their feelings.
Furthermore, the group confirmed that a high-powered Igbo delegation will go to Lagos to meet with some Leaders of Lagos State in a bid to establish a lasting cordial and peaceful relationship between the Igbo and the Yoruba in Lagos.
