Obidient movement buys nomination form for Edo Labour Party governorship aspirant

Obidient Movement Worldwide has supported the political aspirations of Dr. (Mrs.) Loreta Ogbor-Okora female governorship aspirant of Labour Party (LP) ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.

The movement purchased the Expression of interest and Nomination Forms of the LP for her.

This came at a time when the movement appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to find a way to resolve the hunger and poverty situation in Nigeria.

In a recent press statement, the Political Director of the movement, Dr. Barry Avotu-Johnson, said the hunger and poverty situation in the country can cause unrest.

He said: “It is time for President Tinubu to find solutions and stop playing politics with the lives of the people. He should provide quality leadership for Nigerians.”

While explaining the rationale for supporting aspirant, Avotu-Johnson said it was to ensure that the Nigerian woman has a strong reason and value to participate in politics.

He said: “We want to uplift the agenda for women to participate and build women’s capacity in politics, that is why we are presenting the LP Edo State governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to Ogboro-Okor, who is a medical doctor from Oredo Local Government Area of the state.

“This is our aspirant for the reformation of Edo State. Let us give opportunities to women in politics. We want to make sure the Nigerian woman has strong value to participate in politics.”

Ogboro-Okor thanked the Obidient Movement Worldwide for its support for her aspiration and presentation of the EoI and nomination forms to her. She promised to uphold the fundamental principles of the party in Edo State and establish a legacy that would be admired by other states.

She said: “My record as a loyal and obedient individual is impeccable. I have gained the trust of the party with the design of the Health Manifesto, which is traceable to the presidential election of 2023. I am delighted and humbled to have been selected by the Obidient Movement Worldwide to be the preferred candidate for the governorship primaries of the party.”
