Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned supporters of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over their declaration that he has endorsed him.
Obasanjo expressed his displeasure with what he described as an unapproved report of the discussion during the closed doors meeting he held with Tinubu.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, recently, the former president said the statements coming from those who claim to be supporters of Bola Tinubu are unhelpful.
Current Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, revealed that what happened during the meeting between Obasanjo and Tinubu was a sign of victory for Tinubu in 2023.
Gbajabiamila made the statement recently while speaking during the Surulere Local Government Area APC meeting in Surulere, Lagos.

The Speaker said he was present at the closed-door meeting in Abeokuta and that from what he heard during the meeting, Tinubu’s presidency was almost a reality.
While reacting to the claim, Obasanjo disclosed that the statement credited to him is fake and that the people that arranged the report are not helpful to Tinubu’s candidacy.
Obasanjo said: “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing a statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”
