Norwegian Air has announced that it has cancelled orders for 97 Boeing aircraft and that it would claim compensation from the United States plane manufacturer for the grounding of 737 MAX and for engine troubles of 787.
The airline revealed it cancelled 92 of the 737 MAX jets, five 787 Dreamliners and every commercial services contract related to the two fleets and has “filed a legal claim seeking the return of pre-delivery payments related to the aircraft and compensation for the company’s losses.”
The announcement was made after Boeing commenced its flight tests of the 737 MAX on Monday in a bid to gain regulatory approval for it to return to operations.
While talking about the order cancellation, Boeing said it was in talks with Norwegian Air and with other airlines during this trying time.
