The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has dared the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, by tweeting in spite of the existing order by the Federal Government making it illegitimate for Nigerians to post on the microblogging site, Twitter.
It should be recalled that Malami directed the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation to “swing into action and commence in earnest the process of prosecution of violators of the Federal Government de-activation of operations of Twitter in Nigeria”.
Alhough mobile operators have restricted their customers in Nigeria from using Twitter, a lot of Nigerians have migrated to using Virtual Private Networks to bypass the blockage.
From the look of things, El-Rufai has joined the list of Nigerians using VPNs as he recently tweeted a story link which read: “Based Nigeria: African country teaches US lesson in how to handle Big Tech tyranny.”
