The recent plenary went into a closed-door session upon resumption in a bid to deliberate on President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter withholding assent to the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment bill.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan called for an Executive session shortly after the Senate resumed plenary.
The public address system and other equipment at the upper Chamber have been tested to determine whether or not they are working and the board showed clearly that the equipment is in good condition.
It should be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had written the Senate and the House of Representatives, withholding assent to the 2021 Electoral Act Amendment bill that was passed by the National Assembly and tendering reasons for not assenting the bill.
