A Nigerian mother, Dee Adekugbe has expressed happiness as she watched her son, Samuel Ayomide Adekugbe, play for Canada at the ongoing 2022 Qatar FIFA world cup. Canada started their World Cup campaign with a recent match against Belgium and there were a lot of players who were gracing the big stage for the first time.
27-year-old Sam Adekugbe, who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor, came on the pitch as a substitute during the opening match.
However, Sam’s mother could not hide her joy as she watched her son play a World Cup match for Canada.
In a video shared online, the happy mother kept screaming: “My son is in world cup, Yeah baby, thank You Jesus”.
The highly elated mother lost her voice as a result of her happiness but she was unfazed as she jumped for joy to watch her son play.
