Nigerians in Houston, Texas are set to stage a protest against the Nigeria Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki. Our correspondent reliably gathered that the senate president will on 4th May, 2017 be at an official town hall event in Huston, Texas.
An anonymous Nigerian Houstonian who confided in our correspondent disclosed they are planning to take to the street for the ill-governance that characterized Nigeria upper chamber led by Senator Saraki. The source rebuffed the senate as non-promising, saying the chamber is a house of corruption, scandals, frauds and illegalities.
The source said the planned protest is to demonstrate their displeasure over the maladministration in the senate and peacefully made their demand known to the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Senator Saraki). He added until people voices of condemnation are heard and adjustment effected, Nigerian politicians may still be unaware of their ill-governance.
Quoting him, “Let us Nigerians in Houston show him (Senator Saraki) our displeasure with his actions along with those of his colleagues in the National Assembly by protesting in his presence. We cannot allow these rogues the pleasure of a peaceful visit to the USA while they leave our fellow Nigerians languishing in misery back home”
Senator Bukola Saraki, we learned will on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th May, 2017 present at a town hall event at Crown Plaza Suites Hotel, 9090 Southwest Freeway, Houston.
