Onoh Chukwuka Richard, a Nigerian businessman, reportedly committed suicide after losing a N2.5 million bet over the weekend.
According to reports, Onoh drank Sniper and was later rushed to a hospital in Abia state, where he was confirmed dead.
Prior to his death, Onoh made a cryptic post on his Facebook page which implied that something tragic was about to happen to him.
Onoh, a popular big boy in Abia State wrote: “Today is my last day on earth. Going to meet my maker”, while thanking some of his friends.
In another post, he complained that he staked 2.5 million naira on a bet, adding that he borrowed 1.2 million of the money from someone and was worried about repaying the debt.
He later complained that his unemployment had turned him into a gambler. He told a friend he was chatting with that he might have died by the time the reader saw the chat.
Richard concluded that the only way to avoid facing his debtor was to die.
