Super Falcons of Nigeria pulled a brilliant performance to make progress while Canada crashed out in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Super Falcons of Nigeria progressed to the Round of 16 after playing 0:0 against the Republic of Ireland to seal the second spot in Group B.
However, in the second match of Group B that was played at the same time as the Republic of Ireland versus Nigeria match, co-hosts Australia defeated Canada by four goals to eliminate the North Americans.
Australia topped the Group with six points while Nigeria ended the Group phase with five points. Canada crashed out with four points while Ireland was only able to secure just a point.
