Eunice Dwumfour was found dead in her car with multiple gunshot wounds in Sayreville.
Police found Eunice Dwumfour, a Republican councilwoman, with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Middlesex County officials, as reported by CNN.
She was in her car close to her home when she was shot. The vehicle then took off down the road and crashed into other parked vehicles. An investigation for homicide has commenced.

Dwumfour’s neighbor said she was killed on her way home from work.
Sayreville Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick stated that the community is “shocked and saddened” by her death.
“Beyond her dedication to our community, I can share that she was a woman of deep faith and worked hard to integrate her strong Christian beliefs into her daily life as a person and a community leader,” the mayor said.
The councilwoman was serving a term from 2022 to 2024.
